Home Group Recap: 10/12

Hi Students & Parents,

Tonight was our third week of Youth Home Group and our third week in our Faith with Momentum series! After talking about prayer and Scripture the past two weeks, tonight we focused on another important part of growing in our faith: community.

We looked at 1 Peter 2:5-6, where Peter describes followers of Jesus as “living stones” that God is building together. Just like one stone cannot make a building, we were never meant to follow Jesus completely on our own. God gives us people to encourage us, pray for us, support us, and help us keep growing. Most importantly, Peter reminds us that Jesus is our cornerstone and foundation, the one we build our lives on and who brings us together.

This week, I encouraged everyone to keep their prayer and Scripture streaks going and to be intentional about community too. Check in on someone, pray for a friend, encourage someone who needs it, invite someone to church or home group, and don’t be afraid to ask for support yourself. My hope and prayer is that our YTH Home Group continues to be a place where our students feel cared for, can be themselves, and grow closer in relationship to Jesus together.
